Ten years into teaching composition, halfway through a PhD in modernist literature, I decided to follow John Lennon, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce and start out on my own. Now I enjoy the freedom to work on projects that excite me.
You don't like to sweat over a blank screen, so don't. I know how to dive into a grant proposal, draft your web content, or meet a quick deadline on a press release.
For small businesses, artisans and entrepreneurs, I now offer social media "playbooks":
Say you don't want to pay a giant marketing firm to write content for your socials, but you're not sure you have time time or knowledge to do it yourself.
Sample posts and topics, a brand dictionary, and "Do's and Don'ts" are provided to you so you can express your business's personality vividly and consistently. I call the plays, you run them!
If you want help for something you don't see here, try ordering off-menu. I enjoy unusual requests.
I can be a coach on the sidelines prodding you to do your best work, I'll put on my best glasses and proofread, and I can even roll up my sleeves and overhaul difficult passages.
We'll develop, structure, flesh out, streamline, support, clarify, polish and proofread anything you need. I bring deep experience with every stage of the writing process. You can bring projects from every stage of it, too.
For larger companies, I can drop in for an external "audit" and share impressions of a work in progress. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh pair of eyes!
